Our Love Story
Sophia and Luuk’s love story began not in their home country, but in the heart of Paris—the City of Love.
In August 2017, fate brought them together during a spontaneous trip with friends. Sophia had moved from Mexico to Amsterdam just two years earlier and decided to take a break with a Paris getaway. Meanwhile, Luuk had just returned from a summer in Spain and was ready for one last adventure before settling back in Utrecht.
They crossed paths on a lively bar crawl—Sophia spotted Luuk in the first bar and thought he was cute. Luuk introduced himself, speaking impossibly fast Dutch, only to be met with Sophia’s charming smile and an honest, “I don’t speak Dutch that well… yet.” (Spoiler alert: she does now!)
They didn’t truly connect until the final stop of the night, where a spark was lit during a deep conversation about life, dreams, and everything in between. They exchanged numbers and went their separate ways—but not for long.
Back in the Netherlands, one meetup turned into many—concerts, festivals, rugby games, and late-night talks. They quickly became inseparable, building a life full of love, laughter, and unforgettable memories.
Today, they live together in their cozy Amsterdam apartment with their beloved dog-child, Quinn—the fluffy, four-legged love of their life and proudest adoption. Their home is filled with laughter, music, dog hair, and lots of love.
Now, after years of growing together, they're ready to begin their next chapter: marriage.

Meet our fur baby, Quinn—a rescue pup from Italy with a heart of gold and the personality of a full-blown diva.
Quinn strutted into our lives and instantly took over our routines, our couch, and of course, our hearts. She’s SO CUTE, affectionate, a little dramatic, and full of opinions (which she’s not shy about sharing).
With her Italian roots, Quinn brings a little extra spice to our lives.
Though she won’t be making the trip to Mérida (too hot for a fur coat and no direct flights, sorry!), she’s a huge part of our family and our story. We couldn't imagine sharing our lives without her—and now you know why.
